Have you ever had someone ask you why you chose to homestead? Or what benefit it really has when it comes to the Church as a whole?

Same! There’s not really an easy answer that comes readily to mind.

While the nuances of living a homestead life and how it contributes to the Church are many and varied based on each family, I think it is fair to say that, generally, there are numerous ways it can benefit the Church and family as a whole.

First and foremost, the family is and should be the first school for learning about God and who He is. Living close to the natural world, as homesteaders, plays a pivotal role in that critical education through seasonal living.

There is also the added benefit of living where you work, and being able to see more clearly the effects this has on the local church community as a whole.
